Alex's Dino 5th Birthday Party
Our gorgeous little guy turned 5 this week and we have had such a fun time celebrating! On Sunday we celebrated with his friends with a dinosaur bike riding themed party at Kew traffic school! Alex picked the theme all by himself - as soon as he mentioned a Dinosaur Bike Party we knew the Kew Traffic School was the perfect venue. The birthday boy and his little mates spent two happy hours on their bikes & scooters, the only time they stopped was for the occasional pit stop at the 'Dino Cafe', complete with dinosaur fairy bread and other yummy treats!
The custom birthday cake was from Ferguson Plarre in Hawthorn and it was AMAZING! The custom cake team used the adorable Dino bike image from his party invitation by Studio One 16 and printed the image onto edible icing for his chocolate mud cake.
Ferguson Plarre also made some stunning custom cupcakes for the party too.
Catering wise, I wanted to keep it super simple as we only had access to the venue 15-minutes before the party started! My friend Marika at The Healthy Platter Co absolutely nailed the kids grazing platters! As soon as I said ‘Dino Party’ this is what she came up with! We served Mini cucumbers, Cherry tomatoes, Carrot sticks, Yellow capsicum, Hummus Dip, Watermelon, Grapes, Blueberries, Strawberries, Pear, Wholemeal Fairy bread (Marika even found Dinosaur Sprinkles for this!), Wholemeal kids sandwiches, Chocolate covered pretzels, Mini macaroons, Lolly Dinosaurs, Yoghurt Covered Sultanas, Cheese Cubes, Cobs Popcorn and Whole Kids Dinosaur puffs. It truly was a mix of ‘naughty and nice’!
It wasn’t just about the little ones at Alex’s party - we also booked a Two Mugs Coffee Cart and The Healthy Platter Co put together this gorgeous custom platter above, complete with freshly baked Noisette pastries, berries and chocolate coated strawberries. YUM!
All the amazing decorations were from Costume Box, they have such a fab range of Dino partyware!
Craig from Two Mugs Coffee was on site to make coffees and hot chocolates for our guests.
The green ‘Happy Birthday’ lollipops were made by Sweetie Darling Candy, an artisan candy company based in Sydney.
The little ones sipped on organic apple juices from Whole Kids in between their bike and scooter rides.
Alex's friends took home camouflaged party bags filled with mini dinosaurs, lollies from Costume Box and a Zuru Smashers Egg S3 which they LOVED!
The celebrations didn’t end on Sunday - Alex’s official birthday was on Tuesday so we had the family over for a birthday dinner complete with this Volcano Chocolate SMASH CAKE by Smash Cake Melbourne. ! Is this not a 5-year-old boys dream birthday cake?!
