Sydney Family Fun (Part 2) - Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour

We have just returned home from a sweet few days in beautiful Sydney. We stayed at two fabulous hotels during our visit, the second of which was the stunning Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour. This luxury all-suite apartment hotel is located at East Circular Quay, just steps away from the Opera house and overlooking the harbour and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The property is absolutely perfect for family travel as both the garden and Harbour view suites (one and two bedroom apartments) offer full kitchens, laundries and separate living and dining areas. Below are all the details.

The Suites We stayed in a one bedroom Harbour View suite. The suite was so spacious with a gorgeous kitchen, marble bathroom with gigantic spa bath and separate shower, separate bedroom, a large living and dining area and THIS view (above). Without doubt Pullman Quay Grand is one of the most superbly positioned hotels in Sydney, offering the most sensational views over Sydney Harbour. When we arrived in our suite the kids couldn’t believe their eyes as they spotted the elephant shaped towels set up on their bed. And then they spotted the balloon and treat plates with chocolate coated strawberries and marshmallows and lollies! It could not have been a sweeter welcome!

Our little loves admiring the towel art! So sweet!

The main bedroom of our harbour view apartment. The large harbour-front terrace leads straight off the bedroom and living room.

Our suite had a full kitchen and bathroom and the kids loved the spa bath!

Breakfast Breakfast is offered in Q Dining, the hotel’s signature restaurant located on level 2 of the hotel, just beneath the lobby and Hacienda Bar. But with views this incredible, we didn’t want to leave the suite so enjoyed room service breakfast on the terrace. Bliss!

The pool + facilities Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour has a gorgeous indoor pool + spa on level 2 of the hotel. Even the pool deck has harbour views (see below) and our little ones loved watching the world go by over Circular Quay in between their swims. The well-equipped gym is right next to the pool.

Where to eat

Q Dining is a must-visit when staying at Pullman Quay Grand and we enjoyed the most incredible dinner at Q Dining during our stay. This harbour-front restaurant is seriously glam, with decadent food and wine to match.

I started with a seared king salmon entree with sesame and mandarin, followed by the most incredible piece of grain fed Black Angus tenderloin with hasselback potatoes, broccolini and foie gras jus. It was exquisite. To finish I had the vanilla bean Creme Brûlée with pistachio ice cream. A meal to remember!

The kids were also well looked after and started with veggie sticks and dips, followed by Fish & Chips (for Alex), Spaghetti (for Ava) and ice cream with gummy bears for dessert!

With its fab position at Circular Quay you really are spoilt for choice when staying at Pullman Quay Grand - Cafe Sydney is another harbour-front venue that our family loves. We also love Opera Bar - this relaxed bar offers all day dining right at the Opera House overlooking the Harbour Bridge and is just steps away from the hotel. Of course, the other option when staying at Pullman Quay Grand is to jump on a ferry and travel to any number of gorgeous water-front locations for a long lunch or dinner, or even to take the kids over to Luna Park or Taronga Zoo! The options are endless!

Our kids love the playground at Double Bay so when we checked out of the hotel we hopped straight on the ferry to Double Bay and then finished our trip with a playground play and lunch at one of our fam’s fav Sydney pubs, The Sheaf. The kids loved playing in the courtyard at the pub and enjoyed the Sheaflings menu too! Perfect spot for a relaxed mid week lunch.

Why the kids loved PULLMAN Quay Grand

Where to start?! Our kids loved the elephant towel art in the room, the sweet treats and balloon in the suite, splashing in the pool & spa, playing on the terrace and watching the ferries come and go into the ferry terminal, seeing the twinkling lights at Luna park, watching the cars zooming over the Harbour Bridge, waking up to the enormous cruise ship parked at Circular Quay, bubble baths, enjoying milk and cookies on the terrace overlooking the harbour…..the list goes on!

Pullman Quay Grand is a truly special hotel and we could not have enjoyed our stay more. From its incredible position on Circular Quay, to the luxurious family-friendly suites, this is a magnificent hotel that the whole family will love. To learn more about this iconic hotel, click here. xx
