5 Minutes with Cookie Monster & Abby Cadabby
We could hear the cookies crumbling as we approached the Yarra Room at Langham Melbourne. Inside were Cookie Monster & Abby Cadabby who were chatting to us about their upcoming 48th season of SESAME STREET which launched last month.
For the past 48 years, Sesame Street has been helping kids grow smarter, stronger, and kinder!
Ava and Alex are HUGE sesame street fans and were so excited to chat to Cookie Monster & Abby Cadabby (and ask them all the important questions, you know like 'how big is the biggest cookie you've ever eaten?!')
Of course, in the spirit of sharing some kindness, we had to take a cake to share with Cookie Monster & Abby Cadabby and so we invited Jess from Bake & Co in Hawthorn along who made one of her famous Cookie Monster Cakes, filled to the brim with macarons, popcorn and cookies!
Below is the transcript of our interview! Thank you Cookie Monster + Abby for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk cookies, cakes and kindness with us! xx
Me: We heard you've been here a few days for a holiday, what have you been up to?
Cookie monster: Oh we've been having a good time here in Melbourne, we've been to a football game. The tigers and the cats.
Abby: We saw two kids of cats!
Cookie Monster: Me now want to see Kangaroo.
Abby: I am hoping we see a platypus but Cookie we saw pigeons yesterday, didn't we?
Cookie Monster: We have lots of pigeons at home in New York.
Ava: What is your favourite type of cookie?
Cookie Monster: Oh, that is a great question Ava! Me love chocolate chippies. You like cookies? What's your favourite?
Ava: The same one as your favourite!
Cookie Monster: Great choice!
Ava: What is the biggest cookie you've ever eaten?
Cookie Monster: I once ate a cookie that was 3 feet tall! It was a HUGE cookie.
Abby: How many chocolate chips were in there?
Cookie Monster: 47!
Alex: Cookie Monster, why do you love cookies?
Cookie Monster:Because they are delicious.... and they're crunchy... nom nom nom nom... and chocolatey. Me getting hungry just talking about it!
Me: If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you both want to have with you?
Cookie Monster: Cookies, oh, and a cookie, oh and one more thing, another cookie!
Abby: If i hand my wand I could float off the island! HAHAHA. I like Popcorn, and i'd like to have something to draw with as I like to do art and possibly a hedgehog, for cuddly reasons, although they really aren't cuddly at all.
Me: This season is all about sharing kindness, so what are your top tips for sharing and spreading kindness?
Abby: Right now, Alex is being very gentle with me and very kind and thoughtful, he is holding my hand. So hugs are good. Sharing is a good one, playing together.
Me: In the spirit of sharing some kindness we thought we would bring you a special cake to share with Abby.
(Jess then presented Cookie Monster & Abbey with the cake.)
Cookie Monster:Bring the cake in here! Oh it is me in cake form! That is beautiful! Oh look at the cookies in my mouth! You are an artist lady!
