Ava & Alex's Paddington Party!

On the weekend we celebrated Ava's 6th and Alex's (upcoming) 4th birthday with a Paddington themed birthday party. Our little ones birthdays are six weeks apart, so this year we decided to roll the celebrations into one and we hosted a joint party three week after Ava's birthday and three weeks before Alex's.

We took their gorgeous little friends to a screening of 'Paddington 2' and kicked off the celebrations with a pre-movie party in the Lido Cinemas foyer.

The kids had the best time EVER at their party and I just wanted to say a big thank you to my gorgeous friend Em from Pretty Snippets for capturing these photos from the day and for all her help setting up the party (particularly on a HOT 42 degree Melbourne day!).

For the pre-movie party we had a Paddington colouring-in station for the kids to enjoy on arrival and a 'Paddington at the Fair' themed dessert table complete with delicious Cupcake Occasion cupcakes with three different themed toppers, paw print cake pops, 'Please take care of this bear, thank you.' cookies and FOUR and SIX cookies, striped cups of homemade rocky road and milk chocolate Teddy Pops from Koko Black. We kept all the other catering very simple and served Paddington's favourite sandwiches, fruit pops (served on cute Amscan Red Striped Straws) a popcorn bar (served in Amscan red and blue striped boxes) and a classic British treat - Scones with jam + cream, made with love by my Mum!

The party favours were set up as a 'Paddington Station Baggage Collection' and included activity packs and posters from Studiocanal Australia and sweet little cello bags filled with twin packs of Dotty Cookie Packs from Byron Bay Cookie Company (my kids favourite cookies), lollipops and other treats.

Thank you also to Astrid at Paper Playground for the adorable custom signs and to Amscan Australia for the fabulous Orbz balloons and red + blue partyware, which were perfect for the occasion. The balloon garland that sat on the dessert table was a DIY job (I just tied all the balloons on to one long piece of twine) and the navy and red ORBZ Balloons completed the garland perfectly. I decorated the tables with some British themed printables from Bird's Party and also made a garland from this set.

It could not have been a sweeter day and I hope you enjoy this snapshot of party pics! And if you haven't seen Paddington 2 yet, it is a must-see movie!

Happy birthday Ava and Alex! Xx
