Sophie's Special Day

Last weekend we celebrated my younger sister’s Hens party in Melbourne. Sophie and her fiancé Symon are getting married in Noosa in a couple of weeks, so we wanted to host a special girls lunch to celebrate the impending nuptials and toast the bride-to-be.

The Venue

We hosted the lunch on the terrace at Sarti Restaurant in Melbourne CBD. Sophie adores Italian food and also loves rooftop bars, so the terrace at Sarti was the perfect venue for the occasion.

The Dress code

We had a confetti and sparkles theme for the day and asked guests to wear a 'touch of sparkles'.

The Styling

We kept the styling really simple; two jumbo confetti balloons (from Ruby Rabbit Party) and matching garlands (from The Little Things EV on Etsy) were a feature on the dessert table, and then to carry the confetti theme through we wrapped Hipp confetti wrapping paper around all of the flower jars. I made large LOVE letters from cardboard and pink + gold confetti and we also scattered confetti all over the dining tables at Sarti. Sophie's seat was adorned with personalised white sash, confetti crown and Paper Playground Confetti Pop and Bon Bon.

The Food and Wine

On arrival we served Aperol Spritz in the courtyard at Sarti, followed by the most divine Italian food and wine (menu below). To finish there were delicious raspberry cheesecake brownies, Sophie's favourite cupcakes and sweetheart cookies made by Ngoc from The Dessert Parlour.

Entertainment

Mardi, one of the bridesmaids, set up a cute Polaroid photo station with some adorable props and then all the pics went into a book for Sophie to keep as a memento from the day, along with messages from guests.

The groom’s sister, Kate, had organised some Bride + Groom trivia and had also organised posters with photos of Symon which were waiting for Sophie to discover in Little Collins Street as we left the restaurant.

After Lunch

After lunch we kicked on at The Emerson in South Yarra and then my sister Anna had organised a sleepover across the road at The Cullen Hotel. After a big sleep in, we enjoyed brunch at Gramercy Bistro and then it was time to head home.

It was an amazing weekend celebrating the most beautiful bride-to-be! Fabulous food and wine, lots of sweet treats and lots of fun! The countdown to the wedding is on.

xx
